Music For A Found Harmonium by Simon Jeffes arr. Shannon Rogers
An arrangement of the well known piece written by Simon Jeffes for the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, released in 1984.
This is a modern spin on one of Penguin Cafe’s most popular pieces. The arrangement captures the essence of todays pop culture featuring extensive ‘rock out to the max’ and ‘disco fever’ sections. It’s an energetic and joyful work that suits an intermediate skill level and beyond. It is scored for 7 percussionists and electric bass.
This piece was commissioned by the Ferny Grove State High School Percussion Ensemble and its director Stephanie McCaw. Many thanks for their collaborative efforts and their continued support, without which this would not be possible.
