Prepared Sounds Publishing ASME Prize winner 2014 Sabrina Conwell has written an excellent piece for intermediate percussion ensemble

Tree Tops for 6 piece percussion ensemble. The piece uses a build-up of texture and musical interactions between instruments to create a vibrant melody. This work begins in a minor key and later transitions to a major key.

Player 1 – Glockenspiel
Player 2 – Vibraphone
Player 3 – Marimba 1
Player 4 – Marimba 2
Player 5 – Electic Bass (optional)
Player 6 – Percussion 1 (Tambourine and Triangle) Player 7 – Drum Kit

Notes about the composer:

Sabrina is a composer of mainly percussion ensemble pieces, being a percussionist herself. Her experience playing other instruments including violin, piano, saxophone and guitar has added to her composing abilities, inspiring her to also write for other small ensembles including strings and a saxophone quartet.
