John Parker to tutor at McGregor Summer School January 2015

John Parker is really excited to be tutoring at next year’s McGregor Summer School in January 2015. The program has changed to contemporary instruments only and it’s going to be a heap of fun. If you’re interested in enrolling please follow this link:


2015 will see the introduction of a new and exciting direction for the McGregor Summer School Music Program, to align with USQ’s music curriculum.

Our performing arts students will:

      participate in group tutorials
      participate in master classes for your instrument/voice type
      talk with exciting, special guest artists in open forums
      participate in public performances
    Performing Arts Classes

Guest Australian artists Clare Bowditch and Shane Nicholson will workshop with individual classes before having an open forum with students culminating in a concert each Friday night. Shane will be the first guest artist on Friday 9 January and Clare will feature on Friday 16 January.

The Musical Director for the Music Program will be Daniel Spirovski

The classes will have a contemporary focus and include

Bass with Helen Russell
Guitar with James Sherlock
Drums/percussion with John Parker
Contemporary Piano with Nathan Seiler
Contemporary Voice: Technique, Style and Performance with Dr Dan Robinson
Song writing with Mark Sholtez
Music Theatre with Megan Shorey and James Dobinson

How to enrol

Enrolments for 2015 McGregor Summer Schools will open 1 September. You are able to enroll in these classes either on-line or via an enrolment form.
